Book Week / Writing Color / A Creative Writing Workshop following the exhibition Material Imagination: Inflamed Nerve / Israeli Art from the Museum’s Collection (in Hebrew)

In celebration of Hebrew Book Week, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art invites you to a unique, one-time writing workshop—an inspiring creative encounter held within the Museum’s permanent exhibition

Amid the gallery walls and surrounded by works of leading Israeli artists, we will read together from ekphrastic poetry—poems written in response to visual art—by renowned Hebrew and international poets, including W. H. Auden, Czesław Miłosz, contemporary Israeli voices, and others. Through this shared reading, we will deepen the connection between word and image, between pen and brush, and engage in brief writing exercises that breathe life into the figures, landscapes, colors, and materials before us.

This workshop is open to anyone drawn to writing—no prior experience required—and is a chance to find inspiration where language and art meet.

Led by poet and author Yonatan Berg, whose new poetry collection Poems on Canvas, written entirely in response to the exhibition, is being published this season.
