An Israeli Vintage / Material Imagination: Inflamed Nerve / Israeli Art from the Museum’s Collection in Dialogue with Local Wines

A unique tour that weaves together two traditions of local artistry — art and wine.

The collection exhibition, Material Imagination, highlights the material qualities of artworks and returns them to their raw origins. The galleries, organized according to the characteristics of the four classical elements — fire, air, water, and earth — spark a different kind of conversation about the works, one rooted in sensory experience rather than a purely intellectual response.
As in art, wine also engages in a dialogue between the elements: between the vine and the soil, the rain and the fruit, the elemental and the formed. Art and wine share an inherent connection — both arise from materiality, both embody spirit, era, and culture.
This evening, we will create a dialogue between the traditions of Israeli art, grounded in local materiality, and the ancient tradition of winemaking, rooted in similar physical conditions.
During this tour, we will visit the collection exhibition Material Imagination: Inflamed Nerve and taste wines carefully selected to match each element and artwork.
The tour will be led by Kfir Meir, Assistant Curator of Israeli Art, and Noa Even, sommelier and director of wine programs in leading chef restaurants in Israel.
The wines are generously provided by Pastel Restaurant.
